Our foundational beliefs rooted in Scripture
At Word of Life Christian Ministries, our beliefs are firmly grounded in the Bible, which we hold as the inspired and authoritative Word of God. These core doctrines guide our teaching, shape our community, and inform how we live out our faith daily.
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is our final authority for all matters of faith, doctrine, and Christian living. The Scriptures are God-breathed and profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness.
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." - 2 Timothy 3:16
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person of the Trinity is fully God, co-equal and co-eternal, yet distinct in their roles. God is sovereign, holy, loving, just, and merciful.
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." - Matthew 28:19
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, ascended to heaven, and will return in power and glory.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." - John 3:16
We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, who convicts the world of sin, regenerates believers, indwells all Christians, empowers for service, produces spiritual fruit, and distributes spiritual gifts for the edification of the church.
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses." - Acts 1:8
We believe salvation is a gift of God's grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ alone. It is not earned by works but is freely given to all who repent of their sins and trust in Christ as Lord and Savior. Salvation brings forgiveness, new life, and eternal relationship with God.
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God." - Ephesians 2:8
We believe the Church is the body of Christ, composed of all believers worldwide. The local church exists to worship God, edify believers through teaching and fellowship, evangelize the lost, and serve the community. Every believer is called to be an active member of a local church.
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together." - Hebrews 10:24-25
We believe Christians are called to live holy lives that reflect Christ's character. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, believers are transformed and empowered to love God, love others, and live according to biblical principles in every area of life.
"Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God." - Romans 12:1
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people—believers to eternal life with God in heaven, and unbelievers to eternal separation from God. Jesus Christ will return to judge the living and the dead, establish His kingdom, and make all things new.
"And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment." - Hebrews 9:27
